Stratton  started in 1860 in Birmingham, and began producing top quality compacts from 1923.  High fashion items, their compacts became extremely popular, due to recreating Hollywood glamour looks of the 50s.

Circa 1950s, this compact features a classic brown alligator leather inset top, surrounded by an engine turned pattern, evoking class and style. Stratton “compact in hand” logo engraved on the inner compartment lid. A lovely accessory on a dressing table, or as a retro mirror in a handbag, especially at vintage shows such as Goodwood Revival.

It is in good used vintage condition, with no cracks in the mirror. This item is fashionable and universally desired, as well as highly collectible.
