A very rare Japanese design Vesta case. This brass match safe encompasses a compass and a cockerel standing on top. Looking at the lid you see a samurai mask looking over the scene below.

This item is highly unusual. not only does it include a compass into the design but it has a Japanese style. The design is embossed with a cockerel standing on the compass and Samurai mask looking down at it from the lid. The case is made from brass so that the compass can function unaffected. This is a very rare item and would be a great addition to anyone’s collection of Vesta cases or Japanese items.

The hinge works well and so does the compass. It has signs of age but that’s a tribute to its life and rarity.
