Dixon and Sons Pewter Bee Hive Honey Pot.

Stunning Pewter Honey pot with a characterful wooden base circa 1850. Made by Dixon and Sons in Sheffield, as confirmed by the hallmark underneath – ‘James Dixon and Son, Sheffield’ The hallmark also reads ‘EPBM’ which stands for ‘Electroplate Britannia Metal’. This piece brilliantly depicts a bee hive, both visually and to the touch. The wooden plate is warm and textured to the touch, and holds the pewter pot perfectly. This would make a great standalone piece or as part of a collection from the same period.
